We recently have been informed that the Ethiopian courts close every year. The closure typically lasts from the end of July or early August, until mid September. During this time the judges have vacation and a new schedule is made for the upcoming year. Due to the closure referrals will not be given after June 15th. Anyone who receives a referral before June 15th is expected to get through the court system before closure. Our agency will resume the referral process approximately September 15th. Our hope and prayer is that we will receive our referral before June 15th, otherwise the earliest we would be able to bring our daughter home would be November or December. Please pray for God's timing and that when they see our daughter come into the Orphanage they will see she belongs to us.

As hard as this time is, be grateful that you are getting information from your agency. Also, it is in God's hands...He has a plan for your family and will give you the best match!
Trust me, I HATE WAITING! I think sometimes it must be harder to adopt than birth...but I will never know. I just know adoption is a labor of love, sometimes a harder labor than expected. I am praying for you all!

Thanks. I do know that adoption is so much harder than being pregnant. God has been teaching me so much through this process. You said it right on when you said it is a labor of love. The not knowing and the trust that your child is being taken care of before they can come home is heart wrenching.
